Gold Tone OB-250LW Review: Gold Tone OB-250LW Light Weight Orange Blossom Banjo (Five String, Vintage Brown). This is an interesting banjo, having a warmer tone than a typical bluegrasser with a metal tone ring. I wanted something that would be reminiscent of John Hartford and this delivers. Using medium Gibson SBG-571M strings sound great with this. The volume is not compromised with this bevelled pot. The downside of this banjo, and I suspect, many Gold Tones, is its set up.
