I purchased the Berkey for my girlfriend as a Christmas present because we were tired of lugging gallons of water up to the apartment. As an athlete, I like to stay hydrated, so we were constantly running out of water. Given that my girfriend can't drink tap water (city tap water makes her sick, even with a Brita filter), we figured we'd try the Berkey.
